•
Simultaneously press AMP and SELECT and hold for one second. The Amp button lights for
20 seconds. The next step must be performed while the button is lit.
•
Enter the numeric code for the Amp to be controlled (3 digits), and then press the Amp button
(key 4).
•
The LED blinks twice to indicate that the programme has been accepted. No blinking indicates
an error.
•
If the TV is switched on and the remote is pointed towards the Amplifier during programming,
entering the correct code as above causes the Amplifier to go into standby.
Re-assigning volume control
The following describes assigning the SoundServer volume control to activate the Amplifier volume.
This is an example only – any device can be programmed to control the volume of any other device.
•
Simultaneously press HDD AUDIO and SELECT and hold for one second. The SoundServer
button lights for 20 seconds. The next step must be performed while the button is lit.
•
Press MUTE.
•
Press Volume Up.
•
Press AMP.
•
The LED blinks twice to indicate that the programme has been accepted. No blinking indicates
an error.
•
The result of this action is that using the volume controls in SoundServer mode now controls
the volume of the Amplifier.
IR Data Format
The remote control uses an NEC consumer format Infra-Red signal on a 38KHz carrier frequency. This
protocol is fully described in the datasheet for the NEC Remote Control Transmission IC uPD6121
(Datasheet available at http://www.ic.nec.co.jp/partic/english/doc.html
http://www.ic.nec.co.jp/english/pdf/U10114EJ6V0DS00.pdf).
It should be noted that key repeats are handled in the standard way defined for NEC in which a short
‘repeat key’ command is sent (as opposed to the way they are handled for the original Imerge handset,
in which the entire IR code word was retransmitted, with a bit toggling on each key press).
The transmission word consists of:
leader code + custom code+ inverted custom code + data code + inverted data code
custom codes and data codes are binary 8 bits with LSB first
Custom Code
The custom code is utilised to communicate the current remote code to the SoundServer.
The coding utilised is as follows:
