PMD680

Portable PC Card Recorder

This rugged and

compact digital

recorder is specially

designed for high-

quality monaural

voice recording. It

uses the modern

media of PC Cards

that come in a

variety of sizes. A

440 MB card, for

example, provides

you with up to 27

hours of MP2 audio

or 1 1/2 hours wave

file uncompressed

audio.

Computer Compatible Recording

The PMD680 is a monaural audio recorder

that records high-quality digital audio files

that can be immediately transferred to a

computer for archiving, editing, or uploading

to the Internet. Simply insert a recorded PC

Card into your computer’s PC Card slot. It’s

that easy.

PC Card Recording

The PMD680’s Type III PC Card slot is

compatible with both compact flash (using

an adaptor) and ATA-size PC Cards. This

media is widely available at computer and

electronics retailers. The slot is designed to

accept future PCMCIA memory options.

The Flash Memory Advantage

Highly reliable flash memory PC Cards

contain no moving parts and are impervious

to temperature extremes and shock which

might damage recordings.

Selectable File Format

Compressed MP2 digital audio files recorded

on the PMD680 can be stored as MP2

(.mp2) or in the Broadcast Wave standard

(.bwf).

The PMD680 also allows uncompressed

recording (PCM) in the true wave (.wav) file

format.

Custom Playback Sequence

The PMD680 uses an on-the-fly marking

system for placing reference marks during

recording. These marked points can be

easily searched during playback, or used to

create a custom playback sequence that

doesn’t alter the original recorded files.

Professional Interface

The PMD680 provides an XLR and 1/4” Mic

Input (with -15/-30 dB attenuator). A

Telephone Jack is available for recording

phone conversations or playback. This jack

also passess through live recording signals

to a telephone line.
